Voters send Otter to governor's office

Republican Butch Otter won the race for Idaho governor early today, defeating Democratic newspaper publisher Jerry Brady after a nail-biting night of delayed election returns. Otter had not declared victory by 1:30 this morning, and Brady had not conceded defeat. Idaho Democratic Party Chairman Richard Stallings said complete returns were still not in from four counties leaning toward Brady: Ada, Bannock, Blaine and Bonner. But Otter held a commanding 28,000-vote lead with two thirds of the votes tallied. - Full Story
