Governor-elect's remarks at annual North Idaho event draws praise

Gov.-elect Butch Otter got his first chance Sunday night to warm up lawmakers for the legislative session. Otter addressed 78 lawmakers, including nine freshly elected legislators from the Treasure Valley, at a dinner in Post Falls as part of the annual North Idaho Chamber of Commerce tour. In his speech, Otter touched on the need to build a statewide community college system, work to control the growth of property taxes and find new and innovative ways to manage Idaho's water needs. But his focus was on creating an open dialog with lawmakers and fostering bipartisan unity. - Full Story
