Saturday, November 25, 2006; IDST

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is warning consumers to avoid ham and turkey products recalled because of bacterial contamination. Ham and turkey products from HoneyBaked Foods Inc. may be contaminated with a bacteria that causes listeriosis, which can cause fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea, the Department of Health and Welfare said. The illness is especially dangerous for pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly, and people with HIV. The recalled products were produced between Sept. 5 and Nov. 13 and were sold through Internet and telephone catalog orders. It is unknown if any products were shipped to Idaho. The following products, distributed by HoneyBaked Foods Inc. were recalled: • 6 to 11-pound packages of sliced and glazed fully cooked half ham. • 12 to 16-pound packages of sliced and glazed fully cooked half ham. • Three-pound packages of sliced and glazed cooked boneless turkey breast. • Three-pound packages of sliced and glazed fully cooked smoked turkey breast. - Full Story
