Idaho Army National Guardsman killed in Iraq

A Western Washington man attached to a Post Falls-based National Guard battalion has been killed in action in Iraq. The Department of Defense confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Specialist James D. Riekena, 22, of Redmond, Washington died Sunday, January 14th. Specialist Riekena died from wounds he received after an improvised explosive device was detonated near his vehicle. Reikena was assigned to the 145th Brigade Support Battalion's Bravo Company, which is headquartered at the Post Falls National Guard armory. - Full Story
