Idaho Corps of Discovery Passport Program ExpiresWednesday, January 24, 2007; IDCLThousands of Idahoans got to know their state a little better through the Idaho Corps of Discovery Passport program, launched in 1999 by then-Gov. Dirk Kempthorne. The program that coincided with the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commemoration concluded Dec. 31, 2006. Travelers obtained stamps from specific stamping locations ranging from museums to mines, fish hatcheries to lumber mills and state parks to national monuments. Those returning their passports with stamps from all 44 counties received a certificate signed by the governor and a replica of a Lewis and Clark peace medallion.
