NIC board of trustees approves tuition increaseTuesday, April 24, 2007; CDAPTen percent raise will bring fees to $1,055 per semester COEUR d'ALENE -- Tuition and fees will cost $59 more per semester at North Idaho College beginning in the fall. The NIC board of trustees approved a 10 percent increase in tuition at Wednesday night's meeting, with fees increasing by $3. Total tuition and fees are now $1,055 per semester for a resident student, a total increase of 7.3 percent from the previous figure of $996. Fees include items such as technology fees, library services, athletics and student activities. NIC Vice President for Administrative Services, Rolly Jurgens, said the increase will generate $379,000 in additional revenue for the college. The College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, the state's only other community college, increased its tuition and fees 7.1 percent, from $1,000 to $1,050. The University of Idaho jumped 5 percent from $2,696 per semester to $2,830 and Lewis-Clark State College also increased its tuition and fees 5 percent, from $2,505 to $2,630. - Full Story |
