Giuliani makes stop in Coeur d'Alene

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) - Former New York mayor and 2008 presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani was in Coeur d'Alene yesterday, picking up contributions at a $500 per person reception and making promises for smaller government. Giuliani is leading a crowded Republican field in most national polls, although he was third in raising money in Idaho, behind Mitt Romney and John McCain when campaign spending reports were turned in June 30th. Organizers of the fundraiser said they had slightly more than 100 donors at the reception, which could bump him up to second when the next set of reports are sent to the Federal Elections Commission. Giuliani says his style of governing should play well in Idaho. He says any state could tip the balance in a tight election. - Full Story
